Source: I Have Started Blogging!
Today was one of those days where I definitely felt God’s hand on me.
But before that, I should say that this should be typical for the Christian that is sincerely trying to pursue God’s will for his/her life. It should be normal to say or even to know when you have a “God moment”. God is present at every hour, every second of every day. We just need to be aware of when He is pressing us to do something, say something, and most importantly: always be praying!
The bible tells us to “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks to God, for this is the will of Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Today’s testing moment came when I arrived home from work. I get off pretty early, around 1:00 PM. Going home for me is always testing time to be honest, but today there were special tests that I needed to get through. I had gotten home and my parents decided to do some special purchase. I was eligible to use my credit card, so my parents decided to use me to do this. Besides, they said, I will build credit. I agreed. I spoke to the lady on the phone concerning personal information. At the end of the conversion, I had understood that I did not make enough to be able to make such purchase. From this I receive a comment from one of my family members whom says “You have to lie sometimes” to which I responded, NO. I will not lie no matter the given circumstance. Lying is a sin, according to the Holy Scriptures. If I lie, I am worshiping the enemy. I am neglecting God’s command to not lie.
A lie is a lie is a lie is a lie.
I know we are all sinners, as another member of the family pointed out, but that does not give us an excuse to sin. If the Father so loved His Son, so that we can be FREE and no longer live in SIN, then what do I benefit from lying? Nothing. I reject the truths that I already proclaimed to be the guidance of my life.
Therefore, no matter how small the sin may seem (such as telling a lie), or no matter how small the lie may be (no such thing as a white lie) always stick to the truth. The truth is the one that sets us free. John 14:6 reads “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me.” This is Jesus speaking. He is saying that if He is the truth than, and that if we expect to meet the Father in heaven one day, we should be willing to obey Him, and not the ones that tell us to do something that goes against His word. Amen.
Another test moment for today!
I had shopped at a store, when all of a sudden I notice two young ladies sitting outside with the big JW information set-up that they have. I prayed to the Lord for guidance, and I decided to turn back into the parking lot of the store and speak with these ladies. Why in the world would I want to do something like this?
Because I love them. Because I want them to see the REAL truth. As much as they are convinced about their own believes that they are willing to sit outside and wait for people to pass by, I need to bring the real truth to them in love. And most important, be prepared.
When I met up with these young ladies, I recognized one of them as my tennis friend and high school mate. It was nice to speak and to catch up a little on our current status on life.
Real soon did we start a conversation on the bible. I brought up how are bible is different than theirs. I spoke to them in sincerity and spoke life. There are a lot of things we disagreed on: such as their non-acceptance of the trinity and their view on heaven and hell. For some reason, I am always linked and intrigued with Jehovah Witnesses. It just hurts me that they are so close to the truth, yet so far.
I told them at the end of our conversation which didnt take more than an hour that I would like to meet with them again. Lord willing, I will be at that same spot, more prepared than today, with more Scripture and more grace.
When God’s children are willing to seek God and live for Him, we must be prepared for moments such as this to share the truth with those whom think they have it all together.
I hope to be a light to these ladies, and I hope to see God glorified in the midst of our conversation. Truth always prevails. Jesus has already won this battle. What can stop us now?
Hi everyone, I am so glad that you stumbled upon my blog. You have the opportunity now to look a little deeper into my world. But, this blog is not specifically just about me. My intentions for this blog is to glorify the one that has given me the opportunity to glorify Him. I am here to encourage, to testify, and to write about things that are on my heart.
What is the point of this?
I think that Christians can edify others by sharing experiences that they have had on their daily walk with God. I want to be that person to you. I want to be that person that I have always dreamed of being. I want to shed light into this dark, dark, dark world. I want to share hope. I want to share my heart.
If you benefit at all from any of my blog posts, please feel free to leave a comment. I love to see if my journey in life has been an influence to you. If you have any questions at all concerning my posts or my beliefs, please do not hesitate to ask! Gods richest blessing to you all.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Soli Deo Gloria,
What do those two words really mean?
God has a special plan for each and every one of his children. Sometimes, this means that His chosen ones have to endure some kind of suffering. The kind of suffering I have had to endure is one I never thought I would have to go through. Whether it be living hours away from home, family, and comfort food, or even having to endure the strenuous college years that i have chosen to complete.
There are many kinds of suffering that Christians have to go through in order to fulfill the calling that the Lord has placed on his/her life. If I am not carefully reminding myself why I need to endure suffering, then I am in danger of losing sight of I am here on earth in the first place. I will lose sight on the calling that God has put into each and every one of us to fulfill.
Whats the point of it all? Why go though suffering? Why not just do whatever your mind and heart tells you to do without consulting it with God? Why suffer in the world when you can choose to live a comfortable life?
Because of what was done on the cross thousands on years ago. What was done on the cross for evey single human being still has an impact on you and me today.
Phillipians 1:29 reads
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also suffer for His sake;
But a believer may still say: “Yeah, but suffering hurts. I dont want to go through the pain, the tears, the sorrow.”
Because of the limited amount on time that we have on earth should not be consumed for ourselves and our desires, but for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
And as hard and painful and strenuous the road may take a believer, it must be done. We are the ones that are embodying the Lord. We are the ones that are supposed to be enduring lifes trials in order to glorify the Lord. As weird as this still sounds to me, suffering is a blessing that all Christians have the opportunity to endure.
Suffering is only for a moment, for when we all get to heaven, all this suffering will be remembered no more.
The best part of it all is that God is most glorified when He sees us working and suffering for His Kingdom.
So why suffer?
Why NOT suffer!
and endure just a few days more? It will be worth it in the end. This is a promise that Christ has given us when He had to endure on the cross. When He had to suffer and die so that I might live!
So that i might live a life where i have a choice to suffer for His sake!
Believer, please be reminded that this life is not your own. Die to yourself daily. Read and read and read the Scriptures. Pray and pray and pray to the Lord God almighty. And God will help you endure any suffering that will come along your way. Oh and it will come. It is a promise for every believer. But another promise is that the Lord will be with you throught it all. Amen.
